Current Development

A new version of SciELO Regional is being developed. This new versión intend to use Wordpress as CMS and the plugins database of the WP to increase the services for SciELO Network. One of the biggest challenges are to give to the WP the capability to manage a multi-language Portal, for this effect a parallel development is taking place to create a i18n plugin to be used in the wordpress [Multi Language Framework].

Motivation

Give flexibility to the management of the homepage: The Regional SciELO be a portal with a large editorial flow and want to give maximum flexibility for the team to configure the portal homepage with highlights. In addition to the facilities of the WordPress? plugins that allows the user to freely drag and drop widgets on the home page.

We will create widgets that bring the latest headlines from a desired category. For each widget you can choose whether to display images or not, what size, whether or not displays a summary, etc
